Free Focus Session

A free guided online co-working session that helps you get work done. Focused & with ease.

24 February at 09:30 - 11:30 (CET)

Imagine this was you …

... you have lunch after our session on Tuesday you feel proud - and a bit surprised ,) - about what you’ve achieved and gotten done in the morning. You’re still energies and carry that ‘focus energy’ with you for the rest of your day.

... you feel for yourself how good and rewarding deep work feels. And that it’s not about luck or perfect timing - but about the system you create for yourself or the spaces you enter.

... you are confident that from now on it’s gonna be way easier for you to ‘just do it’ and resist distraction because you tasted the reward for deep work and understand the ‘price’ of scattered and distracted work on a deeper level.

Understanding what supports my focus – and building systems that provide such support – has been the biggest win in my time management journey.

It provides me with inner peace and calmness and gives me the confidence to get big things done - like finishing my dissertation in the past & writing a book now.

My Journey towards finding my focus

I know your struggles...
because I had them too!

Hey! My name is Miriam and I can relate to your feelings and frustrations so much because I've been there too.

I always liked the idea of being a writer, a deep thinker, someone submerged in their thoughts, a creator – but 'liking the thought of' something, I soon realised in my PhD, isn't enough to actually be or become that someone I wished I was.

I also had those lucky moments, of course – those blissful mornings where things would just flow and I'd think 'there we go!', only to lose that flow for weeks afterwards. I thought 'maybe I'm just not that kind of person'. Maybe I'm not meant to be that writer, deep thinker, creator I hoped I would be someday.

Luckily! I got to challenge these thoughts the first time I went on a writing retreat. The retreat wasn't about how to write, but how to feel like a writer. Not in the Jane Austen or Stephen King sense – but as someone who writes scientific articles, LinkedIn posts, code, emails, conference abstracts... We write all the time!

Feeling like someone who takes writing seriously was the mindset shift I so badly needed. What I also needed was a routine, a strong structure, supportive breaks, accountability and community – which I found in the writing groups we formed after the retreat was over.

Our little group (3 people) met for regular 'writing snacks' and experienced deep work magic together. I don't use the word 'magic' often, but I haven't found another word to describe this experience yet. All 3 of us have got our PhD degrees by now, but I'm keeping that spirit alive in my Focus Club. So you can experience the same kind of magic – during our sessions together and beyond. You'll notice that focus comes easier and easier.
