Let’s create a PhD experience you love

We assess your situation and I show you how to invite ease and success into your PhD role.

You were brave, moved abroad and started your PhD position. You had hundreds of ideas and felt a strong 'Why' behind your topic. But instead of feeling like a researcher you are haunted by endless to-dos, doubts when looking ahead as well as left and right and pressure to produce papers.

You have the feeling you should be working all the time yet progress comes slow and feels tiring. Unfinished drafts, almost nothing to show for and you wonder: "What am I doing wrong?" Whereas all you want is to produce results that move knowledge forward and ultimately contribute to the betterment of society.

Your brain is full of tasks but you don't know where to start… Manuscripts, conference presentations, networking, skill development… Everything feels important yet too much. You feel you can't go all in on one because it will go at the expense of something else. You're longing for a structure, a roadmap and that feeling of "I've got things under control and I know what I'm doing".

Do these sound like your daily struggles?

You share your challenges and together we design a roadmap tailored around you.

We develop a planning routine that honours your needs

You’ll have a planning routine that feels 100% aligned to your role and personality and that accounts for both the nature of your tasks and your individual energy patterns.

You learn how to prioritise with confidence and navigate the unexpected with ease.

You’ll take decisions with clarity and with your greater vision in mind. You know how to decide on the next steps and how to stay calm when the unforeseen happens.

You know how to take full advantage of your focus - sustainably.

You’ll know how to find your focus and flow, when you need and want it. Concentration will become easy and planable.

You want …

  • to finally have a framework that shows you which tasks are really important. You know exactly: This is my next best step. Period.

  • to trust in your ability to regain focus, clarity and calmness even on days when doubts creep in. You can hold yourself and stay true to your vision.

  • to make progress on your PhD without getting lost in details and opinions. You know how to detect procrastination and follow a strategy that helps you decide when to trade perfectionism for progress and when not.

Mindful time management guidance: This is what my clients say:

“Now, time management is becoming much more manageable.”

"Before working together, I was really struggling with structuring my work days and getting things done without wasting far too much time. Miriam helped me develop concrete tools like working in focused units and maintaining a floating to-do list that actually works for me.

What I enjoyed most was the reflection on my current behaviour and the positive approach and language used throughout.

Now, time management is becoming much more manageable! I've gained some brilliant tools, but the most valuable insight was the reminder that I'm doing all this work for my own benefit - taking the right steps and spending my time efficiently will benefit me directly.

Gülin, PhD at the Technical University of Denmark

“I would absolutely recommend her!”

“Miriam helped me to get a better overview of everything and improve my prioritisation (which was one of my main reasons for working with her, so ✔). Her notebook structure is something I will definitely keep on using!

I also very much liked the personal approach and the calm, safe space Miriam created. She really takes the time to listen, help and follow up on what is/isn't working for you. She is clearly very passionate about conveying what has made her life easier to others!

If you have difficulties with prioritisation and live in chaos (like me), I would absolutely recommend her!

Charlotte, Postdoc at University of Copenhagen

“Now I can be my own ally rather than enemy
when it comes to
time management”

“Thank you Miriam, for your excellent work. Previously, I have only had time management presented as “make a schedule and follow that”. Your work was a lot more helpful if you are an actual human.

You presented a much broader and more holistic understanding of time management and offered flexible tools that I have found to be useful and supportive. I now, more than before, believe I can be own ally rather than enemy, when it comes to managing my time.

Elisabeth, PhD Fellow at University of Copenhagen

This is what I've learnt on my journey from having my dream PhD position (but being overly stressed and doubtful) to guilt-free weekends, a podcast side-project and handing in with ease:

You don’t need to follow a rigid plan and work extra hours to make meaningful progress. You don’t need to either sacrifice your free time or accept less output or lower quality. You need a roadmap that is both strong and flexible. A strategy that supports you in your needs as well as in your research visions and a mindset that supports you instead of talking you down.

Would you like to be guided by someone who has been through challenges similar to yours?

Hey, my name is Miriam

I tried many time management techniques and was both surprised by their positive effect and frustrated by their limitations… it all came together when I combined classical time management tools with mindset work and mindfulness practices. I simply can’t work for hours at end and produce valuable output. I tried pushing and forcing myself and yes it got me far but it also left me feel exhausted and always behind. Nothing was ever enough and I kept thinking others were further ahead than me… By bringing the human factor into time management I learnt to focus on myself, my needs, my energy and finally brought that feeling of ease and acceptance into my work I had been longing for.

Today, I support ambitious and amazing PhDs in finidng their way towards stress-free productivity and a PhD experience that feels energising instead of draining.
